Cashgist loans: amount, term and payout
What Cashgist says on its website (read 27 Oct 2026):
- Amount and term: R500 to R4 000, repaid within 5 to 40 days.
- Speed: approval in 15 minutes; payout 15 minutes to 2 hours during business hours.
- Payout: to your bank account, or to an eWallet, which Cashgist describes as instant on any day.
- Early settlement: without penalty.
Cashgist does not publish its interest rate or fees on the site; they are in the agreement you receive before you sign. Compare the total you will repay with other lenders on the online loans list.
Who can apply
You must be 21 or older and a South African citizen. Cashgist asks for a South African ID, proof of steady income for the last 3 months (a bank statement showing three salary deposits) and access to internet banking. The loan is assessed for affordability like any registered lender’s. Cashgist’s help centre says a decline can follow from its affordability assessment or from information in your credit profile, and it does not say that a low score is accepted, so ask before you apply, or read loans for bad credit for lenders that do.
Repayment and contact
Repayment is by a DebiCheck debit order on the due date, or manually by Ozow from your account. A late fee applies and Cashgist does not publish the amount, so contact it before the due date if you cannot pay. Support runs Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturday 08:00 to 13:00 on +27 21 714 0800 or support@cashgist.co.za.

Important information
Terms are from cashgist.co.za, read on 27 Oct 2026; the NCR registration was checked in the NCR register of credit providers the same day. Interest rate and fees are not published. Cashgist’s pages give two payout times (within 1 hour on the home page, 15 minutes to 2 hours in the FAQ), so confirm it before you apply. Cashgist decides every application after its own assessment; no lender can promise a yes in advance.

- A loan has to be repaid on time. Before you sign, check the interest rate, the initiation and monthly service fees, any credit life insurance and the total amount you will repay, and make sure the repayments fit your budget. If you pay late, the lender can add default interest and collection costs, and missed payments can be reported to credit bureaus. Under the National Credit Act, a lender must check that you can afford the loan. Check the lender in the NCR register before you apply.
