Kredio online loans: amount, speed and how to apply

Kredio is a fully online lender: no branch visit and no paperwork to post. What it says on its website (read 27 Oct 2026):

  • Amount: R500 to R8 000, for first-time and returning customers. The amount and the repayment term are set individually and shown in your quotation before you sign.
  • Speed: the application takes about 10 minutes, a decision comes within 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, and the money reaches your bank account within 15 minutes after you sign.
  • Assessment: every application goes through an automated credit and affordability assessment, as South African law requires of a registered lender.
  • Payout: to your bank account.

Kredio does not publish its interest rate, fees or term on the site. They appear in the pre-agreement statement and quotation, which you get before you sign: read the total you will repay there and compare it with other lenders on the online loans list before you accept.

Can you get a Kredio loan with a low credit score?

Kredio says: “We evaluate each application individually. A lower credit score doesn’t automatically disqualify you.” That is a statement about the process, not a promise of a yes: the assessment still looks at your income, your existing obligations and your credit record, and the decision is Kredio’s.

What helps an application: bank statements that show regular income, an amount you can repay from what is left after rent, food and transport, and details that match your ID. If your score worries you, check your credit report free first, and read loans for bad credit for how other lenders describe their checks.

What you need to apply

Kredio asks for four things:

  • a valid South African ID;
  • a bank statement not older than 3 months. Kredio says the statement is uploaded automatically for Capitec, Absa, Access, Standard Bank, FNB, Nedbank, TymeBank and Discovery, and by hand in some cases;
  • proof of steady income;
  • an active South African phone number.

You must be 18 or older. Have the documents ready before you start, and approve the DebiCheck debit order in your banking app once the quotation is signed.

Repayment, early settlement and late payment

Repayment is by a DebiCheck debit order that you approve once through your bank, or manually: by EFT, Ozow, Capitec Pay or card, using the payment link in your account. You can settle early; to get the settlement amount, ask in your account or via chat at least 3 working days before the due date. Late payment may add fees and interest as set out in the agreement, and Kredio does not publish the amounts. If you expect to miss a payment, contact Kredio before the due date on 021 300 0281 or contact@kredio.co.za. Kredio says a late payment may also affect your credit record.

Is Kredio registered? Registration and contact

Kredio (Pty) Ltd, company registration 2026/566710/07, is registered with the National Credit Regulator as a credit provider, NCRCP24149. We checked the NCR register on 27 Oct 2026: the status is Registered, since 26 Aug 2026, so Kredio is a new business with a short track record. A registered lender must assess affordability, show every cost in a quotation and may not use your ID, bank card or PIN to collect a debt (National Credit Act, sections 90 and 133).

Registered office: 82 Tulip Gardens, 17 Langeveld Road, Vorna Valley, Midrand, Gauteng, 1686. Phone 021 300 0281; email contact@kredio.co.za. Kredio’s own site warns that a lender who promises a yes before any assessment is a warning sign: apply only on kredio.co.za.

  • A loan has to be repaid on time. Before you sign, check the interest rate, the initiation and monthly service fees, any credit life insurance and the total amount you will repay, and make sure the repayments fit your budget. If you pay late, the lender can add default interest and collection costs, and missed payments can be reported to credit bureaus. Under the National Credit Act, a lender must check that you can afford the loan. Check the lender in the NCR register before you apply.
